Dr. Moorthy is a specialist prosthodontist. He graduated with honours as a dental surgeon from Trinity College Dublin in 2013. Upon graduation, Dr. Moorthy worked in the Dublin Dental University Hospital. Dr. Moorthy completed his membership examinations for the Faculty of Dentistry at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow as well as passing the Canadian Board Exams. Dr. Moorthy then spent two years working in a busy rural private practice in Newfoundland, Canada.

In July 2017, Dr. Moorthy returned to his hometown of Dublin and undertook a three-year full time clinical doctorate and specialty training in Prosthodontics at the Dublin Dental University Hospital in Trinity College Dublin. He completed his graduate Prosthodontics training in 2020 with first class honours.

A prosthodontist is highly trained in aesthetics, dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures and much more. They strive to execute treatment to the highest standards possible.

What can I expect during a visit with my Specialist Prosthodontist?

Dr. Moorthy describes his approach to dentistry as conscientious and caring whilst paying a high attention to detail. Patients will go through a detailed consultative process at the outset of treatment to create a pathway to their ideal outcome. Dr. Moorthy works closely with a range or inhouse specialists to optimise clinical success. Following the detailed understanding of a patients goals, current condition, budget and timeframe, Dr. Moorthy will develop a detailed treatment plan and review with each patient before commencing their treatment.

His areas of particular interest are the replacement of missing teeth, the management of tooth wear, the management of failing dentures and the treatment of complex occlusal (bite) problems.
