M.D.S (Periodontics and Implantology)

Dr. Narayanan is from Mumbai, India and before moving to Ireland, was a consultant Periodontist in several busy practices in Mumbai.

She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate training with First Class honours from a top tier Government Institution in India.
Dr. Narayanan has completed a 3 yr Masters degree in Periodontics and Implantology (M.D.S- Masters in Dental Surgery ) from Nair Hospital Dental College, Mumbai on a scholarship awarded through a competitive examination, wherein she was ranked in the top 1 percentile in the country.

On moving to Ireland, she passed a 2 part board certification examination and is registered with the Irish Dental Council.

Areas of interest professionally are restoring gum health, conservative management of complex periodontal problems in patients with medical histories, aesthetic gum procedures and Implants.

When not at work she enjoys painting, playing the piano and is discovering the joys of becoming a new parent.

What is a Periodontist?

A Periodontist specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of periodontal (gum) diseases.

Generally, Periodontics is the treatment of diseases associated with the gums and other conditions affecting the health of the soft tissues and bone in the mouth. These disease processed can damage attachment fibres and bone resulting in tooth mobility and potentially, tooth loss.
